MADD Entertainment promotes five dramas at MIPTV, which are successful in Turkey and in the world. Headlining the offering is Family Secrets, which is the hottest series since the beginning of autumn, increasing its viewership to become Kanal D‘s top drama in Turkey.
The Ay Yapim series broadcast as Yargı, stars Pınar Deniz (Wounded Love), a tough lawyer willing to bend the rules in the service of justice; Kaan Urgancıoğlu (Endless Love), who plays a serious prosecutor who does everything by the rules. The two mix like oil and water, but when Ilgaz’s brother is accused of murder, it is Ceylin he turns to for help.
Based on the hit Korean comedy Cunning Single Lady, the second proposal from the distributor is Love Reason Get Even. Esra (Burcu Özberk, Love Trap) swore she would never marry a man like her father, whose business failures left her family bankrupt and struggling all through her youth. Then she met Ozan (İlhan Şen, Grand Family), a bright young engineer entering the civil service. The two married and led a comfortable, stable life – until the day Ozan quit his government job to start his own company.
The third series is MF Yapim‘s All about Marriage, which has reached 6.38% ratings on FOX, where it airs as Evlilik Hakkında Her Şey. The series is about a clan of high-powered divorce attorneys whose clients include billionaires, celebrities, and sometimes even themselves. It features an all-star cast, including Gökçe Bahadır (Stiletto Vendetta), Yiğit Kiraz (War of Roses), Sarp Akkaya (Broken Pieces), Sumru Yavrucuk (Nehir), among others.
Ateş Ince, managing director: ‘We are expecting to grow 40% in 2022 with SVOD platforms being the main driver. Every year we have minimum two big hits generating big ratings on Free TV and watchtime for SVODs. This year, we have Family Secrets and Hidden Truth. One important news is that A Woman Scorned (Infiel) is going to start in France in one of the main channels. We are also sealing long-term partnerships. Therefore, 2022 looks so positive for us’.
A Woman Scorned is a provocative series with Cansu Dere (Mother) whose second season has been sold to more than 65 territories around the world. In Latin America it was acquired by Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras and Paraguay, in addition to HBO Max. Along with Love is in the Air, it was nominated for the PRODU Awards in several categories.
Lastly, Hidden Truth, where a federal prosecutor from the Istanbul judicial court lives a happy life together with his wife and daughter. However, one day he wakes up to find himself in jail and doesn’t remember what happened in the last four months. The last memory of him is the night he was celebrating his daughter’s birthday. He is shocked to realize that he is being accused of the murder of his own daughter and wife. He is approaching his second hearing and faces life in prison.
