Madd Entertainment: a line-up full of global titles

Part of its current international lineup at ATF, MADD Entertainment is highlighting Margarita, the much-anticipated spin-off to Cris Morena’s international hit series Floricienta, which debuted across LatAm last September 2nd on Max. The company is the exclusive distributor for the MAX Original and has already completed sales to broadcasters in Argentina, Panama, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras,Uruguay, Bolivia, Venezuela, Paraguay and Colombia.

Margarita, debuted on Argentina’s Telefe on primetime on September 23 with 38.30% share and became the most watched show of the day. The series,also received very good rating points in Ecuador’s Ecuavisa and in Colombia.

Floricienta took the world by storm in 2004, launching the careers of some of Latam’s biggest pop idols.  The modern-day Cinderella story follows Florencia, an irrepressible singer who befriends a family of rich siblings as she falls for their authoritarian eldest brother.  The musical telenovela was a true phenomenon, spawning 20 years of eternal songs, extraordinary ratings, and packed stadiums around the world.  The serieshas been broadcasted in over 40 countries around the world and joined the Max lineup in 2023, where it has garnered a whole new generation of fans.

20 years later, Margarita follows the adventures of Florencia’s daughter, Margarita.  Like her mother, she has an optimistic and dreamy view of life, despite being brought up as an orphan.  Knowing nothing of her parents or her past, Margarita nevertheless ends up a protege of her villainous aunt Delfina, who appropriated her family’s fortune by substituting a lookalike for Margarita.  Now a famous influencer behind Soho Hangar, Delfina has no idea that her latest acolyte is actually the true heir to her family’s empire.

Over 40 episodes we meet two Margaritas – the real one and the substitute – as well as a large cast of friends and rivals who will face all kinds of adventures together leading to love, heartbreak, friendship, and personal growth.  Through it all, Margarita will discover that her greatest power is believing in her own dreams.
