Madd Entertainment reached multiple sales in Italy and USA, the first one is one of its fastest-growing markets in Europe, where they secured licensing agreements for four new titles with Mediaset. This significant achievement marked a major milestone for the Turkish content distributor, as Italy becomes its principal market in Western Europe after Spain.
‘After Spain, Italy has become the main market for Madd in Western Europe’, stated Özlem Özsümbül, Director of Sales at Madd Entertainment. ‘The fact that we have four strong series debuting there gives me great confidence. We see a bright future in Italy. As Madd, we are very pleased to work with Mediaset in Italy again’, commented the executive during past edition of LA Screenings 2024.
The upcoming series set to air on Mediaset include: The Family, starring Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ and Serenay Sarıkaya; If You Love, featuring Kerem Bürsin and Hafsanur Sancaktutan; Gülcemal with Murat Ünalmış and Melis Sezen; and Family Secrets, an Emmy International Award-winning series starring Kaan Urgancıoğlu and Pınar Deniz.
These new additions will follow in the footsteps of another Madd Entertainment hit, Love is in the Air, which also debuted successfully in Italy. The anticipation for these series underscores the growing appetite for Turkish dramas in the European market, particularly in Italy.
In addition to its success in Europe, Madd Entertainment continues to expand its reach in the United States. Telemundo has acquired the Turkish drama Blooming Lady for U.S. Hispanic audiences. The series is locally known in Turkey as Bahar and has been one of the most successful series on Show TV in the past five years.
‘Telemundo is one of Madd‘s key partners, so it makes perfect sense for them to be the home of Turkey’s most popular series’, said Özsümbül. ‘With their help, the series will reach millions of viewers in the Western Hemisphere. We are confident that it will perform exceptionally well globally and be as well-received by international audiences as it has been in Turkey’.
The collaboration between Madd Entertainment and Telemundo dates back to 2018 with the series My Little Girl and has since included numerous titles such as A Woman Scorned, Abandoned, All About Marriage, Be My Sunshine, Family Secrets, Flames of Fate, Gülcemal, Hidden Truth, Love is in the Air, Love Storm, My Dad My Hero, and The Family.
