The distribution unit of The Mediapro Studio comes to MIPTV to highlight three titles that are part of its seasonal catalog: Las Pelotaris 1926, the musical comedy Upa Next, and the second season of the successful The Head.
Las Pelotaris 1926 is the first project to emerge from the agreement signed by The Mediapro Studio together with TelevisaUnivision. The historical drama is original by Marc Cistaré inspired by the history of the first professional athletes in Spain. The series had its debut on March 23 on the ViX+ platform.
Meanwhile, Upa Next is the sequel to the 2002 musical drama One Step Forward. It stars Miguel Ángel Muñoz, Mónica Cruz and Beatriz Luengo, who reprise their characters from the original series, along with a cast of new faces made up of Spaniards Quique González, Mónica Mara, Marc Betriu, Claudia Lachispa, Almudena Salort, Marc Soler, Karina Soro, Alex Medina, Nuno Gallego, Lucas Velasco and Marta Guerras. The first chapter premiered on Atresplayer (Spain) on December 25, 2022, while the rest of the series will premiere later this year.
Finally, the company is promoting the second season of the science fiction thriller created by David and Àlex Pastor, and David Troncoso, The Head.
