The Mediapro Studio presents «Raza Brava»

The Mediapro Studio arrives at ATF 2025 presenting a slate that spans high-stakes international thrillers, intense social dramas, and character-driven sports documentaries. The offerings reflect a focus on productions rooted in local culture but designed for global resonance.

The company is placing significant emphasis on the Chilean production Raza Brava (4×52′), a drama directed by International Emmy winner Hernán Caffiero. The series is one of the first fictional works to directly portray a real Latin American football club, telling the story of Barti, a young man from humble origins who rises to become the leader of the Colo-Colo’s Garra Blanca fan club, where ambition leads him into a dangerous world of corruption and violence.

The Studio’s scripted fiction lineup expands across various international settings. Celeste (6×40′) is a drama thriller focused on a retiring tax inspector, Sara Santano, whose final assignment is to prove that superstar Celeste is paying taxes in Spain, forcing her to navigate a glamorous world full of secrets. The Icelandic-set thriller Reykjavik Fusion (6×52′) centers on Jónas, a talented chef falsely imprisoned, who jeopardizes his parole and his life by accepting illicit funds to open a restaurant in an attempt to regain his family’s trust. Another international co-production, Jakarta (6×45′), follows Joserra, a man haunted by his past in badminton, who dedicates himself to training a gifted young player named Mar, confronting both sports challenges and personal demons.

The drama slate also includes the contemporary thriller Quiet (8×45′), set during the March 2020 lockdown in Barcelona, where the empty streets become the backdrop for a chilling series of brutal murders targeting the homeless. On the lighter side, So far so good (8×30′) is a dramedy where successful comic artist Ariel struggles with family and social pressures, with a physical ailment sparking a humorous self-exploratory journey. For horror fans, the anthology series Tales from the void (6×32′) offers chilling episodic tales inspired by viral stories from r/NoSleep, exploring the darkest corners of the human psyche.

In documentary and factual programming, The Mediapro Studio is bringing multiple high-profile projects. The sports documentary series Real Madrid: how could I not love you? (6×40′) provides an inside look at the club during an unforgettable season where the team defies critics and asserts its European dominance. Another sports biopic, The Williams (84′), tells the story of two Ghanaian-descended brothers who become football stars, navigating issues of racism and identity while achieving triumphs from the World Cup to the Euro Cup. For true crime, The Christine Jessop Story (3×50′) delves into Canada’s notorious child murder case using exclusive interviews and previously unseen material.

Celeste

Celeste is a hit Latino star musician. Her songs are a worldwide craze. Her concerts pack the stadiums. She has her own perfume, her own lingerie brand, and a flowing head of hair to promote her shampoo. But this series isn’t about her. The real main character in «Celeste» is Sara Santano, a treasury inspector who has devoted her entire life to collecting taxes. That’s the only thing she has ever done since she passed the entrance exam in her twenties until today. After over thirty years working for the tax agency, the time has come for her early retirement. Or at least, that’s what she thought. Because on her last day, she gets the most important assignment of her career: to prove that Celeste, the big Latino star, is residing in Spain and needs to pay her taxes here. Twenty million euros for Spain’s coffers depend on this mission. To complete it, Sara will have to put her own life on the back burner and follow in Celeste’s footsteps to prove that she had spent 184 days here. Half a year, plus one.

The Famous Five

The series follows five daring young explorers as they encounter treacherous, action-packed adventures, remarkable mysteries, unparalleled danger, and astounding secrets in an unforgettable odyssey that evokes the power of camaraderie between the fearless young heroes.

Quiet

March, 2020. The streets of Barcelona are empty. You can only find police, deliverymen, and ambulances outside. And a homeless man is murdered on these deserted streets in his sleep. The first in a series of crimes that all follow the same pattern: always homeless, always while sleeping, always with extreme brutality.

Witness 36

A female writer specialises in creating fictional identities for an international witness protection programme and becomes entangled in a romance with a mysterious man whose past resembles one of her creations.
