MIAM! takes “TRASH!”  worldwide

At Unifrance Rendez-vous in Le Havre, MIAM! distribution announced the acquisition of international distribution rights to TRASH! (50’), a daring young adult fiction comedy produced by Darjeeling and currently airing on ARTE in France. The series, blending live-action and stop-motion, offers a darkly humorous take on single-use culture and consumer waste.

TRASH! follows Gobi, a disposable coffee cup who, after three minutes of glory holding Mary’s latte, must face 200 years of decomposition. His existential journey shines a satirical spotlight on society’s throwaway habits, asking the question: what if garbage could speak?

TRASH!

Created by Géraldine de Margerie (Loulou, Call My Agent) and Maxime Donzel (Toutouyoutou, Tutotal), and directed by Benjamin Nuel (Venice Mostra award-winner) with stop-motion specialist Kim Keukeleire (Chicken Run, Wallace & Gromit), the project combines gritty Parisian backdrops with tactile, handcrafted animation.

Featuring voices from Sébastien Chassagne, Romane Bohringer, Anaïde Rozam, Jenny Letellier, and sanitation worker–influencer Ludovic Franceschet, the show quickly went viral, gaining nearly 2M TikTok views in under 10 days. Backed by French institutions focused on sustainability, TRASH! amplifies environmental awareness through humor.

Mélanie Errea, Head of Sales & Acquisitions at MIAM!, highlights: ‘The series strengthens a long-term partnership with Darjeeling, which has already delivered international successes like “Yeti Tales”, “Our Summer of Freedom” and “Fail in Love”. “TRASH!” now joins MIAM!’s YA slate alongside hits such as “Boys Boys Boys”, “It’s My Body!” and “Brazen”’.
