Movistar + presents La Mesías

The sales arm of Movistar Plus+ is going through a very interesting moment due to the great commitment the company continues to make original content. At MIPCOM, the company presents La Mesías, the new series by Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo, which was included in the Official Selection of San Sebastian.

La Mesías (7×50’) is a family thriller about overcoming trauma, faith as a tool to fill the void and art as the only way to escape from terror. It all starts with a viral video of a Christian pop music group composed of five sisters, which impact the life of Enric, a man tormented by a childhood marked by religious fanaticism and the influence of a mother with messianic delusions.

‘Movistar Plus+ International, is in charge of distribution and co-production, managing the rights of all high-end original content produced by the Spanish platform. At the international level, this generates a stamp of quality and originality of its productions that brings them closer to all types of players’ said María Valenzuela, general manager of Movistar Plus+ International.

In addition, the company have on its catalog, El Otro Lado (6×30’), a series created and directed by Berto Romero, which for the first time in Spanish fiction combines horror and comedy. The story follows a journalist specializing in paranormal events who is going through his worst professional and personal moment when he begins to experience strange events in his personal life.

Other fiction titles no less important that will arrive on the platform throughout 2024 are Galgos, Marbella and also non-fiction titles that will premiere starting this fall such as Bisbal, Bosé Renacido and Luz en la Oscuridad.
