NEM reinforces CEE industry hub

The 12th edition of NEM Dubrovnik, the leading B2B television industry event for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), is officially this year the largest yet, taking place from June 9-12 at the Dubrovnik Palace Hotel. This year’s market anticipates over 1,000 participants and a record-setting 200-plus confirmed buyers, solidifying its role as a key hub for content acquisition, co-productions, and strategic partnerships in the CEE region. The event convenes more than 300 companies and over 100 exhibitors, showcasing exclusive projects from major international studios.

Leading global studios and content providers are participating, offering exclusive previews of their upcoming programming. Attendees include All3Media, Amazon MGM Studios Distribution, AMC Networks, Atresmedia, Banijay Rights, BBC Studios, Beta Film, Fremantle International, Globo, Lionsgate, Paramount Global Content Distribution, The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros. Discovery, and NBCUniversal, among others. These companies aim to expand their presence in the CEE market through curated business opportunities offered at the event.

The event will also feature a record number of buyers, representing public and commercial broadcasters, telecom operators, and streaming platforms. Executives from major media companies such as CME, Czech Television, Ant1+, Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT), HBO Europe, Nova Broadcasting Group, TV3 Group Baltics, TVN, TVP, MTVA, Network4, and United Media are attending. This year marks a record attendance from Polish broadcasters, highlighting Poland’s increasing influence in the regional media landscape.

In addition to screenings and buyer-seller meetings, NEM Dubrovnik is providing extensive networking opportunities and business development sessions. Over 300 companies is participating in panel discussions and trend-focused talks covering content acquisition, production, and distribution. Major telecom firms, streaming services, and content providers, including 1+1 Media, A1 Group, Canal+, Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT), Deutsche Telekom, Rakuten TV, and YLE, will also be present.

Program highlights and industry insights

NEM Dubrovnik 2025’s agenda confirms its status as a critical meeting point for CEE decision-makers. Over these four days, the event focuses on networking, specialized TV industry topics, and presentations of the latest content. More than 70 speakers will engage in dynamic panel sessions addressing pressing business issues such as content distribution, monetization, advertising, live broadcasting rights, and the evolving roles of traditional and emerging players.

Keynote sessions include Bob McCourt, COO for Commercial and International at Fremantle, discussing “The Power of Global TV Brands”, on June 11th. Panels will explore strategic challenges, including “Windowing, Exclusiveness and Distribution Deals: Buyer’s Nightmare or Opportunity” on June 9th,  and “FTA vs. Pay-TV Channels vs. Streamers: The Battle for Live Events?”, on June 10th. Leadership in public media services, piracy, and evolving market regulations are also central themes. For instance, a panel titled “Streamers are Becoming Operators and Operators are Becoming Streamers?” will explore the convergence of these models. A presentation by Google and Omdia will introduce a panel on “TV Ads vs. TV Digital Ads”, examining how CTV, FAST, AVOD, and SVOD are reshaping the traditional TV advertising landscape. Another panel, “Europe’s Audiovisual Future: Do We Have the Necessary Conditions to Succeed?”, will discuss the effectiveness of the AVMS Directive and its potential 2026 revision.

New content screenings and presentations are a major draw, with exclusive access to programming from The Walt Disney Company, Globo, Amazon MGM Studios, and Lionsgate. Lionsgate will offer a sneak peek of its new Robin Hood”. Amazon MGM Studios Distribution will showcase its upcoming slate, including titles from iconic franchises like James Bond and series such as The Handmaid’s Tale.

Beyond the formal program, NEM Dubrovnik is recognized for its networking opportunities, providing a platform for business acceleration and relationship building. Social gatherings and entertainment hosted by partners like Paramount Global Content Distribution, Calinos Entertainment, and Viaplay offer unique networking experiences.
