
The development and distribution unit of Japan’s broadcasting company comes to MIPTV to promote its latest productions. Highlights include the documentary ISSEY MIYAKE: The Human Inside the Clothes and the art and culture documentary Not Yet There.
Showing the internationally renowned fashion designer Issey Miyake, who died last summer at the age of 84, The Human Inside the Clothes presents interviews with Miyake, examples of his many fashion creations, and observations from people who had a close-up view of his approach to life shed light on Miyake’s feelings about Hiroshima and reveal how he created the designs that wowed the world.
Also, following the Mizai kaiseki restaurant (three Michelin stars), which is globally renowned for its menu, Not Yet There is a documentary that presents a synthesis of Japanese cultural arts, where chef Ishihara Hitoshi exhibits the elusive goal of perfection of this place that dated for 55 years.
In addition, OSO18 – In Pursuit of a Deadly Bear, where a dairy farming community in northern Japan is being stalked by an unseen peril: a giant brown bear that attacks cows in the dead of night, killing some and merely injuring others. For years it has eluded teams of researchers and capturers committed to bringing it down. But what is the true nature of the beast they’re pursuing? Is it one bear or several? And how have human actions helped create this situation? The title follows the efforts to track down the animal and to understand what led to its behavior.
Meanwhile, on the drama side, highlights What will you do, Ieyasu?, a fresh take on the life of the titan Shogun who ended the age of war, a series that depicts the life of Tokugawa Ieyasu (January 31, 1543 – June 1 , 1616).
And concluding, NHK EP brings I’ll Still Love You Ten Years from Now, where Rika, a girl who has no luck with men, however, she even has a suspicious man lurking around. The man suddenly claims that he is her future husband of her Hiroshi, who has slipped back from 10 years in the future to prevent their marriage! But the future Hiroshi bumbles his plan from him, and Rika ends up fatefully meeting Hiroshi of the present. Why did the future Hiroshi come to the past to prevent their marriage?
