Nickelodeon (Paramount) was the biggest winner at the 2025 Kidscreen Awards, taking home 10 trophies and surpassing competitors like Disney (five wins), BBC Studios (four), and DreamWorks Animation (three). The annual event, held during Kidscreen Summit in San Diego, celebrated the best in children’s television and digital content, with comedian and podcaster Jessi Cruikshank as the host.

One of the standout winners was Avatar: The Last Airbender, the much-anticipated live-action adaptation of the beloved animated series, which won Best Live-Action Series, Best Inclusivity, and Best in Class in the Tweens/Teens Programming category. The series, a collaboration between Nickelodeon and Netflix, tied with Bluey for the most wins overall.
While Nickelodeon led the night, Disney continued its strong performance, with Percy Jackson and the Olympians earning Best New Series in the Tweens/Teens category and Disney Frozen: Forces of Nature winning Best Podcast. Meanwhile, BBC Studios’ Bluey continued its reign in preschool programming, taking home two trophies, including Best One-Off, Special or TV Movie for Bluey: The Sign and Best YouTube Channel in the preschool digital category.
This year’s winners reflected growing trends in children’s entertainment, with major franchises expanding into new formats. The presence of high-profile live-action adaptations, such as Avatar: The Last Airbender and Percy Jackson and the Olympians, suggests an industry shift toward expanding existing IPs for broader audiences. Meanwhile, platforms like PBS KIDS and TVOKids were recognized for their efforts in digital and broadcasting categories, showing the continued importance of educational content.
A competitive year for digital content
The Kidscreen Awards also highlighted the growing importance of digital media, with categories recognizing interactive content and gaming. Nickelodeon continued its success in this space, winning Best Game App – Branded for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 and Best YouTube Channel for SpongeBob SquarePants.
