OGM Universe: The Fall of the King debuts in European markets

OGM Universe, the Turkish distributor and international arm of OGM Pictures, is unveiling its latest drama production, The Fall of the King (Kral Kaybederse), at European markets this June. This series, currently in production, is an adaptation of the acclaimed novel by author Gülseren Budayıcıoğlu.
The Fall of the King is a compelling drama directed by Yağmur Taylan, Durul Taylan, and Cem Toluay, with a screenplay based on Budayıcıoğlu’s bestseller. Produced by OGM Pictures, the series will air on Star TV and is scheduled to premiere in 2025. The principal cast includes Halit Ergenç, Merve Dizdar, Aslıhan Gürbüz, and Nilperi Şahinkaya.
The story centers on Kenan Baran, known as “The King,” a highly successful businessman who seemingly leads a perfect life, boasting wealth, power, and an ideal marriage to his wife Handan. However, beneath this polished exterior lies a world plagued by chronic infidelity and emotional turmoil. The series delves into the progressive deterioration of Kenan’s meticulously constructed life as his actions inevitably lead to a loss of control and the collapse of his reputation.
Structured as a long-form drama, The Fall of the King features a narrative deeply rooted in themes of power dynamics, betrayal, and personal reconstruction. The dramatic arcs of its main characters are crafted to reflect contemporary social and emotional tensions, highlighting a reality where apparent success often conceals profound personal fractures.
