ORF-Enterprise (Austria) bets this MIPTV on its high-end documentary and drama series line up, presenting new episodes and new productions.
Heading the slate are crime-series Soko Linz (13x’45), of which is doing the world premiere in Cannes with new adventures of the investigators at Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic, and Soko Kitzbuehel (270x’45), the successful drama series on its final S20: it’s a witty and long-running hit-show, aired in multiple countries.
About documentaries, five Wildlife & Nature options: The egg – bursting into life (’52) that cracks open the mystique surrounding the egg with spectacular and amusing results; Lake Tanganyika – Africa’s Blue Heart (’52) with Africa’s second biggest and deepest lake, created by the colossal primeval volcanic forces of the Great Rift Valley, is an astonishing source of life.
Qatar – Pearls in the Sand (’50), which invites viewers to join on our journey to the home of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, a country where unexpected wildlife flourishes in dramatic settings; and Slovenia – Europe in a Nutshell (’52) about this small European country nestled between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea that contains almost all of Europe’s iconic landscapes.
Also, the documentary series Family in the Wild (16x’24) with the renowned wildlife filmmaker Kim Wolhuter invites you for a behind-the-scenes-look at his personal and professional life in an untamed corner of Zimbabwe, and two history docs Venus of Willendorf – The Naked Truth (’52), about this stone-age fertility or sex symbol, new theories assume that it represents the protective, wise old woman and put an end to outdated clichés and stereotypes; and The Rothschild Legacy (’52), a compelling docu-drama sheds light on the history of the Rothschild Family through the eyes of Miriam Rothschild, a renowned scientist of the 20th century.
