Pula Film Festival and United Media unveil finalists for its script workshop

At a press conference held in Zagreb, the Pula Film Festival and United Media unveiled the finalists for their collaborative project, the international script development and pitching workshop «Make the Scene!». This initiative aims to foster talent in television series writing and provides a substantial prize of 10,000 euros for the best project, along with further development support from United Media. The distinguished jury comprises Nataša Buljan, Goran Bogdan, and Mišo Mogorović.

‘The script development workshop and competition ‘Make the Scene!’ is a project we are very proud of, and we are especially honored that it will experience its first edition at Pula Film Festival, to which we are grateful for its partnership and hospitality,» said Nataša Buljan, Director of Script Development at United Media.

The final pitching session before the expert jury is set for July 17 in Pula and promises to be a ‘real creative celebration’. The winner among the six finalists will not only receive a monetary prize but also an opportunity for further development and production of their project with United Media. ‘Make the Scene! aims to be a robust platform for screenwriters and producers to launch high-quality projects and foster the creative industry in the region’, added Buljan.

Participants will benefit from workshops led by Greek screenwriter Nicos Panayotopoulos, renowned for his award-winning screenplays for short films, television series, and feature films such as Truants (1996), My Brother and I (1998), False Alarm (2000), The King (2003), Totally Married (2003), and The Wake» (2006).

The finalists, the jury, and the mentor for «Make the Scene!» were formally introduced at the Pula Film Festival press conference on June 6th in Zagreb. The event also announced the world premiere of Rajko Grlić‘s new film, All Things Come to an End, which will open the 71st Pula Film Festival.

Adding to this, just a day before the grand finale of «Make the Scene!», Pula will host the prestigious semi-final judging of one category for the International Emmy Awards. This marks the third consecutive year that United Media has had the honor of organizing this esteemed event, previously held in Dubrovnik and Athens. On July 16th, a gala event hosted by Nova TV and United Media will welcome numerous guests from the television and film production industries.
