From unique kid series to sought-after scripted programming, PVP DISTRIBUTION highlightes its slate of nine programmes available for sale at MIPJUNIOR and MIPCOM during this week.
‘Since launching PVP DISTRIBUTION in April 2024, we have been dedicated to curating a diverse catalog of documentaries, kids series, and scripted content that inspires, educates, and entertains’, says Johanna Veysset, Head of Distribution and Acquisitions. ‘Our upcoming MIPCOM slate includes great gems that have already garnered a lot of interest in the market’.
PVP DISTRIBUTION brings six unique youth programmes – five animated and one live action – to MIPJUNIOR including:
- MINI-JON AND MINI-MAPLE (68 x 3’30” or 34 x 7’ with new seasons in 2025; Happy Camper Media for Radio-Canada and CBC Kids). For Mini-Jon and Mini-Maple, the mini-clones of Earth A’s most famous agents, sitting still in class is never easy. It’s particularly challenging when you’re gifted, full of energy, and you live in an agency filled with incredible and potentially dangerous gadgets. The pair always have a device to invent, a game to test, or something to blow up during their wild and zany adventures. Animated series for kids aged five to eight years old that includes 23 books, a podcast, and web games. More than 400,000 books have been sold in Canada so far.
- TRUFFLE (26 x 7’; La Pastèque Productions, Happy Camper Media) Truffle is a redheaded, seven-year-old boy who is crazy about music (especially rock!) and has a great love for life. Flanked by his two best friends, Flo and Riad, Truffle navigates childhood with a spirit of adventure and curiosity. Impetuous, spontaneous and enthusiastic, Truffle will stop at nothing to make his dreams come true—or at least stake out the right to imagine them – from his ambition to become a rock star to his existential questioning. Animated series for kids aged six to nine years old.
- GOOSE AND CLOUD (39 x 7’; PVP MEDIA, Dainty Productions for CBC Kids) Young, passionate and energetic Goose is taking his first steps outside the family nest! And he couldn’t be more excited. With his best friend Cloud, Goose will learn about the big wide world, and most importantly, the world inside: learning to familiarize himself with the ephemeral nature of emotions. Cloud’s philosophy is less about learning to control one’s emotions, but understanding them and letting them flow through you like a warm summer breeze (or a tropical hurricane at times…). Animated series for kids aged three to five years old.
- THE SPUDRAGONS (10 x 11’ with new season in 2025; Happy Camper Media for Radio-Canada, TFO). The Spudragons are on a quest to discover all that planet Earth has to offer — from remote mountaintops to bustling cities, from coral reefs to – what’s that? What’s a Spudragon? Why, simply a dragon that’s also a potato, of course! Or a potato that’s also a dragon. Either way, these little creatures are the spudragonliest explorers the world has ever seen — just don’t let them get near anything too delicate. Animated series for kids aged seven to nine years old.
- THE LITTLE SPUDRAGON (21 x 3’30”; Happy Camper Media for Radio-Canada, TFO). The Little Spudragon is a curious and determined potato dragon. A tourist of life and a great explorer of the little things that surround her, the Little Spudragon is eager for experiments of all kinds. For her, everything is to be discovered and she does it in her own way and at her own pace. Thanks to her naïve inventiveness, our potato heroine always manages to find unusual, creative, and resourceful solutions to achieve her goals. Animated series for kids aged three to five years old.
- LET’S PLAY! WITH BISCUIT AND COCONUT (42 x 7’30”; Echo Media for Télé-Québec). Join Biscuit and Coconut, two plush brothers aged 4 and 6, who spend their afternoons going on imaginative adventures with Caroline, their caregiver. Caroline, an artistic director and photographer, lives in a studio filled with tiny décor pieces used for her work. She enthusiastically creates miniature settings where the brothers play, inventing adventures, stories, and comedic scenarios. Together, they form a dynamic series celebrating creativity, imagination, and the joy of free play. Live action series for kids aged three to five years old.
