Mipcom is back full again, and starts with MIPJunior
|
|
For the first time since the pandemic, Mipcom 2022 is complete again, with all its developments open. And it returns to its old format: the previous weekend devoted to MipJunior, and since Monday the big show covering all targets. Let’s see here some global tips of Mipcom this year, and main activities to stress today and tomorrow at MIPjunior. |

What will we see at this MIPCOM? The post covid times have come with less volumes, budgets, lower profiles and austerity, as benchmarks. So, we will have a smaller but surely healthier event, because most of the people that come, are relevant and decided to do business. The post pandemic Age pushes a natural depuration of customers and partners.

People learnt during the blackouts that many stereotypes can be avoided, that many activities can be done on the distance. But one the other side, industry people are eager to join again and do business, all recent events were strong. The networking of the events can’t be replaced, was another masterclass of the pandemic. And especially Mipcom.

Market trends? Many producers see that the OTT bubble is beginning to explode, with important budget and production reductions. On the opposite, the ‘generalistic TV’ is better, because it is more stable and joins the family. With this, the entertainment formats are stronger again, attracting back producers that generated fictions for OTTs recently. Also, it is valuable the moment of Cinema, that has shown many months of growth in Europe, and for instance in Spain has billed USD 100 millions in one year. Is the future back? |

The ‘30 minutes with’ includes this time four top executives: Maud Branly, M6/Gulli (France), Rick Clodfelter and Christina Jang, Disney Branded Television (USA), and Luca Milano, Rai (Italy).
