Lucy Smith, Entertainment Division Director at MIP Markets, offered a few brief words yesterday morning, where she said they will make this latest edition ‘an enjoyable market’. 'We say goodbye to one of our flagship markets, but we welcome a new stage of the MIP events, which adapts to the evolution of the industry. MIPLondon will not be a replacement for MIPTV, so it will have an entirely new program that will complement the first quarter agenda of industry executives’.

The day began with an insights conference offered by K7 Media, where the most recent data on sales and adaptation of globally successful formats was presented. '"The Traitors" stood out as the format that continues to conquer markets, which had 11 local versions in 2023, displacing "The Masked Singer", which had been leading as the most in-demand format for four years', said Michelle Lin, Associate Director of Operations. She also referred to the situation of the decrease in advertising revenues and lower program budgets, explaining that broadcasters refrained from production risks, which is why they went for 'safer formats with proven success'.
