Seriella: global leader in biblical TV dramas

Seriella, the Brazilian production house specialized in high-end biblical content, is launching a major sales push across the European market circuit. The company has confirmed it will present its latest slate of scripted epics in the European Markets.
Known for high production values and sweeping period narratives, Seriella is highlighting two major titles available in English: the 2025 release Pablo: El Apostol and the action-filled historical drama La Reina de Persia. Both productions are written by Cristiane Cardoso and directed by Leonardo Miranda, a creative duo that has defined the studio’s signature style.
Leading the season slate is Pablo: El Apóstol), a 50-episode series (45′ per episode) that chronicles the profound journey of Saul of Tarsus.
The series is described not just as a narrative of faith, but as a ‘grand saga of redemption’. It follows the young, fervent Pharisee whose life is transformed forever after an unexpected encounter. The plot weaves together human dilemmas with divine intervention, featuring spiritual battles, betrayal, and sacrifice.
Also headlining the showcase is La Reina de Persia (2024), a 30-episode drama (60′ per episode) that transports viewers to ancient biblical times. The series tells the story of Hadassah, a young Jewish woman raised by her cousin Mordecai in Susa, who adopts the name Esther to hide her heritage.
The narrative kicks into high gear when King Xerxes, following the dismissal of his cruel wife Amestris, searches for a new queen. Esther is taken to the harem against her will, where she navigates envy and finds unexpected allies before captivating the King with her wisdom and beauty.
Seriella is positioning the title as a unique entry in the genre. Unlike traditional period dramas confined to courtly dialogue, La Reina de Persia is marketed as a fusion of mystery, romance, and action, with plotlines that extend from the palace corridors to the battlefield. The story explores Esther’s rise to power and the deadly game of strategy she must play to save her people from imminent destruction.
The company has confirmed that both productions are fully available in English, a crucial factor for their distribution strategy in the UK and wider Europe. By participating in MIP London, Series Mania, and Content Europe, the Brazilian studio aims to demonstrate that faith-based historical dramas have the narrative scope and production quality to travel to general entertainment audiences worldwide.
