The Mediapro Studio had a strong presence at the prestigious Series Mania 2025 festival. The company presented a solid catalogue of fictions, participating in competitions, panels and key industry events. Among its most awaited proposals were the series Celeste and Fusión.
One of The Mediapro Studio‘s big bets at the event is Celeste, a thriller created by Diego San José and starring Carmen Machi. The series, broadcast in Spain on Movistar Plus+, competes in the prestigious ‘International Panorama’ section of Series Mania. The international premiere of the series will take place in Lille, with the screening of the first three episodes.
To celebrate its participation in the festival, a delegation of the team came to the French city on Saturday 22 March. The delegation was led by creator Diego San José, actress Clara Sans and Alejandro Flórez, executive producer and director of 100 Balas (The Mediapro Studio).
Another of the studio’s big bets is Fusion, a six-episode drama produced by Wild Sheep Content and Act4, with distribution by The Mediapro Studio Distribution. The series has been selected among the ten international productions with the greatest artistic and commercial potential at the first edition of the Series Mania Buyers Upfront.
On Monday 24 March, at the Lille Chamber of Commerce, Fusion competed in front of a jury of international buyers, who evaluated the most promising proposals in this selection. The series follows the story of a talented chef who, after being unjustly imprisoned, struggles to clear his name and win back his family. However, his only way out is to accept dirty money to open an exclusive restaurant, which plunges him into a dangerous web of crime and money laundering.
The studio was also present at the main debates of the festival. On Wednesday 26 March, at the Marie Curie Theatre, María José Rodríguez, Managing Director of Globomedia (The Mediapro Studio), participated in the panel ‘True Crime, Cult, Sports & Celebrities: The New Unifying Genre? Moderated by journalist Nick Edwards, the panel included key figures such as Myriam Weil (Federation Studios), Dolores Emile (Netflix France), Ava Knight (Fifth Season) and Beatrice Rossmanith (Mothership Media Consultancy).
In this session, experts discussed the rise of docuseries and their impact on the entertainment industry, highlighting their ability to combine narrative impact and profitability.
Once again, this year, The Mediapro Studio came to Series Mania with an ambitious proposal of great international appeal. With a repertoire of innovative fiction and documentaries that connect with global audiences, the studio reaffirmed its position as a leader in the production and distribution of audiovisual content. Its presence at the event not only sought to consolidate its leadership, but also to capture the attention of buyers, distributors and viewers from all over the world.
