SIC International Distribution will return to Cannes for MIPCOM from October 12 to 15 to strengthen its international presence and advance its global sales strategy. Among the key highlights for this year’s market, the content sales team will present a newly edited, shorter version of its long-running hit drama, Vitória.

Adapted from the acclaimed Turkish series Gülperi—originally produced by TIMS and distributed by Global Agency—the telenovela follows the story of Vitória as she discovers that her father-in-law, Manuel Mendonça, is a ruthless criminal willing to do anything for power. Following the death of her husband, she attempts to protect her children but ultimately ends up in prison, losing custody of them. Two years later, she is released and determined to get them back. With the support of João, a brilliant lawyer and her first love, she faces off against Manuel Mendonça to reclaim her family and bring the truth to light.
Currently available in the SIC International Distribution catalog, Vitória marked a significant milestone as the first SIC fiction launched through an innovative multi-platform strategy. This was the result of a landmark alliance between the leading Portuguese television network and renowned streaming platforms Opto and Disney+. The collaboration reflects SIC’s ongoing commitment to pioneering new content distribution models, as well as its successful bet on adapting high-quality formats with solid narratives and universal appeal.
To maximize the attractiveness of Portuguese dramas for the global market, SIC has prepared a carefully edited version of Vitória ahead of its first major sale, which will be announced soon. The premium drama has been restructured into three distinct seasons, consisting of 77, 39, and 34 episodes respectively.
In addition to this flagship title, the sales team will also highlight its most recent productions. These include Chapters of Life, based on the massive Brazilian hit Páginas de la vida (created by Manoel Carlos and licensed by TV Globo), and Broken Promise, adapted from the Turkish format Ruthless City. Furthermore, SIC will showcase a diverse catalog featuring compelling short series and non-fiction content for international buyers.
