On this third day of the market, representatives of Sony discussed two new developments in the production of visual media: Virtual production services provided by the Sony partner PIXOMONDO in the area of VFX and Virtual Production; and Sony’s new VENICE Camera and Rialto technologies, which are being used extensively in major film and TV productions.
Within the context of developing communities of professionals in the creative industry, in this seminar, Jonny Slow, CEO of PIXOMONDO; Marko Massinger, Film Producer and Production Development Executive; Will Newman, Business Development Manager, at Sony Europe; and Mark Dauth, Unreal Lead, PIXOMONDO lead the discussion.
As for the first one, PIXOMONDO, a well-known award winner in VFX and Virtual Production in both episodic TV shows and feature films with their major offices in Canada, Germany, and UK, presented all the essence of virtual production, which helps producers, creators and production studios to understand what it is and how to start it.
Meanwhile, at the second one, was focused on file shooting techniques with the new Sony’s Venice Cinema Cameras, that since its introduction in 2017, increased the flexibility for Cinematographers, directors, and producers to capture their vision. The execs talked about how a production and production schedule will benefit by being able of using full frame and Super 35 lenses, different recording formats as well as features like `Dual Base ISO`, the internal `ND filter system, and the Rialto, VENICE sensor extension system.
