Over the last decade, the Company has been building its capacities in TV content through the production and distribution of exclusive sports programs. In 2018 it started producing high-quality feature movies and series, positioning itself as the leader in the region in the production and distribution of such content. The company channel’ portfolio includes SuperStar, where it offer its premium content, and SuperStar2 for fans of foreign acquired content.

Keeping up with the global trends, we have supplemented its portfolio of top services with high-quality documentary and featured programs, delivered across all of Telekom Srbija multimedia platforms and partners’ TV networks. At the same time, we present relevant and attractive content for further distribution worldwide’, underlined Marina Garovic, Head of Content Sales, and Jasmina Lakobrija, Head of Production, interviewed by Prensario.
To date, Telekom Srbija has produced more than 850 hours of original high-quality content, with a catalogue of more than 60 titles, available for domestic and international audiences. In addition to Civil Servant 3, it will soon start broadcasting Secrets of the Grapevine 2, which received an award for the most-watched drama series last year. ‘Further titles for this year are series inspired by actual events and personalities: Toma is a touching story about one of our most celebrated bohemian singers Toma Zdravkovic and the sad and tragic life that he has shared through his songs; and Golden Boy about the story of dirty deeds and corruption and a sincere friendship and love in the football world’, they added.
About the domestic market, the Garovic and Lakobrija said: ‘Like every market, ours has its specifics, but we all have one thing in common: the domestic audience prefers domestic content. Today’s audiences worldwide are hungry for new and exciting stories and Serbia is no different. We have talented authors and professionals in the movie industry, so the logical step for us was to invest in Serbian cinematography. This allowed domestic production companies to propose original ideas and scripts, becoming partners of Telekom Srbija in the creation of unique stories’.
They completed: ‘We cooperate with national broadcasters thus allowing viewers outside our network to have the opportunity to watch our productions. As the largest producer in the region, we also cooperate with national broadcasters of the former Yugoslavian countries, and the viewers all over the region love and watch our content’.
Regarding its international experience through GoQuest Media, the executives remarked: ‘Their knowledge and understanding of the international market have yielded great results. We believe that this is just the beginning of a long and successful cooperation. If we can exchange experiences, be dedicated, and learn from each other our expectations will be surpassed’.
In addition to GoQuest Media, Telekom Srbija have also established co-operations with a couple of other international distributors: ‘The goal is to push the boundaries and cooperate with foreign production companies to co-produce and distribute content. One of the projects that proved to be very successful is the series Besa, a co-production with Adrenalin Studio (Serbia) and Nafta Films (Estonia) The cast consists of diverse and very talented Serbian, Albanian and Estonian actors. We have achieved great results, so we believe that the upcoming series will show the exceptional quality of an own production together with Serbian cinematography’, concluded Garovic and Lakobrija.
