On the third and last day of Series Mania Forum 2023, Rodolphe Belmer CEO of TF1 Group, starred in one of the very famous «Lille Dialogues» sessions. The executive offered an insight into the media group and reaffirmed the company as ‘the free reference’ in TV and streaming for the French audience.
The executive referred to several axes in his market talk at the event. One of the strong points was the programmatic strategy that the group will have in its content in the coming months: ‘We have to create content around heroes and cultural figures of relevance in the country. That is why the editorial line of TF1 in its projects will revolve around French popular culture’.
The executive also talked about the growth of OTTs in the world, and to strengthen their units. ‘Netflix is a huge and remarkable success, but the development of SVOD has shown that other players have entered the market. The subscription streaming market would continue to slow but ultimately continue to grow at a slower rate. We have to differentiate ourselves,’ he said.
Finally, Belmer added that the company is also following its growth strategy based on acquisitions, and they are already working on projects with the companies newly linked to the group.
