The Kitchen at MIPCOM: ‘The business is growing in all regions’

The Kitchen’s international team is present at MIPCOM 2023, led by Ken Lorber, president and CEO; Deeny Kaplan, EVP, and Max Wynen, VP Global Operations. The company attends the market to highlight its new European Hub in Spain and new solutions for its clients.

The team present at Cannes also included Alexis Cárdenas, VP of International Sales; Ignacio Mainini, Managing Director Argentina; and Maria Herazo, Dubbing coordinator for EMEA.

One of the great novelties of The Kitchen at MIPCOM is the opening of its facilities in Spain, 2 floors of 338m2, wich replace the one they already had in the country. ‘While this studio will cover projects in Spain, it will also function as a Hub for several in Spain but will also offer more complex services to projects across Europe,’ said Lorber.

En tanto, Jennifer DodgeThe executive also specified that they are having a ‘very good time’ due to the writers’ strike, which generated greater needs for dubbing services for finished products; and also due to the growing offer of FAST channels, which has driven the need for greater dubbing and subtitling services.

Meanwhile, sizzle reels also stood out, which are nothing more than simplified versions of project presentations that are more economical for their clients, since they can have a product ready to show and sell, and thus not order a pilot chapter, the which have higher prices.

‘The business is growing in all regions. For example, in Asia we started doing business, where we have already dubbed two Korean series for Paramount, and one from India in multilanguage format,’ added Lorber. ‘There is a lot of activity and between all the studios, we are developing about 50 projects simultaneously.’
