The Kitchen Hungary welcomes NATPE Budapest & Content Budapest

With two back-to-back industry forums set to take place in Hungary in June, NATPE Budapest (June 12 to22) and Content Budapest (June 27to 29), Gabor Somogyi, Managing Director of The Kitchen Hungary believes the timing is right for his country to be receiving all of the attention.

‘Hungary, in recent years, has become home to a number of large production studios. We’ve seen numerous Category A movies shooting locally in Budapest’, Somogyi explained. ‘And we’ve certainly grown as a production hub because of it!’.

Somogyi is not 100% certain that it is necessary to host two back-to-back events in Budapest, ‘The events are attracting the same exhibitors and pretty much the very same attendees. Of course, I would like to see the events taking place at different times, so I suppose it is a wait-and-see game, to see if this works.  However, I do believe that the exposure that these two conventions will bring to Hungary is amazing, and we look forward to hosting everyone and sharing all that we have to offer.

There is no doubt that the increase in streaming services affects our current and potential clients-in a most positive way. ‘We are seeing an abundance of new interest in the Hungarian language’, he added, ‘and yes, a lot of it has to do with the plethora of new streamers in every country’.

The Kitchen offers a multitude of languages from its 14 global locations, and according to Gabor, this has opened up many doors for the Hungarian language. ‘That’s why The Kitchen’s global language localization network works so well. Producers and distributors today are looking to dub into multiple languages, and we’re prepared to do just that’.

The exec will be joined at both industry functions by Lajos Petro, of The Kitchen Hungary; Max Wynen, VP Global Operations for The Kitchen Worldwide and Alexis Cardenas, VP International Sales for The Kitchen Worldwide.
