Mediapro Studio: major titles and international consolidation

The Mediapro Studio, one of the most active companies on the audiovisual scene, has a broad catalog of content covering all genres, which it will promote at MIPTV 2024.

One of its main titles is Celeste. The series follows a successful Latin music star, with songs that make waves around the world and her concerts fill stadiums. Celeste has her own perfume, her own brand of lingerie and a tousled mane to promote her shampoo. But this series is not about her. The real protagonist of Celeste is Sara Santano, a tax inspector who has dedicated her whole life to collecting taxes. It is the only thing she has done since she passed the competitive examination at the age of twenty until today. After more than thirty years working for the Tax Agency, the time has come for her early retirement. Or at least, that’s what she thought. Because on her last day, she receives the most important assignment of her career: to prove that Celeste, the great Latin star, resides in Spain and must pay her taxes here. On this mission depends 20 million euros for the Spanish coffers. To complete it, Sara will have to put her own life on hold and follow in Celeste’s footsteps to prove that she has spent 184 days here. Half a year, plus one.

The Mediapro Studios also presents The famous five. The series follows five daring young explorers as they face treacherous action-packed adventures, extraordinary mysteries, unparalleled dangers and astonishing secrets in an unforgettable odyssey that evokes the power of camaraderie among intrepid young heroes.

Another of its main titles is The Head. After the failure of Arthur’s experiment, his daughter Rachel, financed by head investor Laurent, sets up a base in Bir Tawil, a lawless and completely isolated territory in Africa, to research how to eliminate the toxin that makes algae poisonous and finally solve climate change. After genetically modifying it and testing it on animals, the time has come to test it on people. They will pay 5 guinea pigs to drink several doses of the water with the algae in it to prove that it is safe for humans, but what Rachel doesn’t know is that Maggie has made a deal with Laurent to join the trial as the team doctor. All seems to be going well until a new murder and a new missing head once again unleash the nightmare.

They also present Quiet, a series set in March 2020. The streets of Barcelona are empty, there are only policemen, deliverymen and ambulances outside. A homeless man is murdered in these deserted streets while sleeping, and this means the first of a series of crimes that all follow the same pattern: always homeless, always while sleeping, always with extreme brutality.

Finally, Witness 36. This series follows a writer who specializes in creating fictitious identities for an international witness protection program, who becomes involved in an affair with a mysterious man whose past resembles that of one of her creations.
