The Wit starred one of the first conferences of the pre-MIPTV day, MIPFormats. The session “Fresh Garden: Content Creators”, presented by Virginia Mouseler, CEO of the consultancy, highlighted the growing trend of independent creators on social networks, who are redefining narratives in the concepts of entertainment formats.
One of the titles highlighted was Legends Of Life from the CBC/Radio-Canada platform, Ici TOU.TV, which features content made directly by social media influencers. ‘These contents are being widely consumed because the creators are well-known Twitch and YouTube filmmakers,’ Mouseler explained.
The executive explained that this shift in narratives is being taken by companies with great expertise, such as CJ ENM, whose Couple Palace format, the dating suvirval show, proposes a twist to the classic dating show.
It is even arousing interest in FAST players such as The Roku Channel, who recently launched the Carpe DM with Juampa format, where the influencer Juanpa Zurita performs fast-paced dynamics that he receives via DM on his Instagram account.
Likewise, other shows such as Dancing With the Stars or The Big Brother have been revitalized in short format for Twitch, with live broadcasts of more than 24 hours that follow their participants in the dynamics of these formats, but that now reach new audiences.
