TIFFCOM 2025 Kicks Off Alongside Tokyo International Film Festival

The 38th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) is officially underway, and its affiliated content market, TIFFCOM 2025, will open its doors tomorrow, October 29, at Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center Hamamatsucho-kan. This year’s edition promises to be one of the most dynamic yet, with a record number of exhibitors, expanded programs, and a rich lineup of networking and co-production events aimed at connecting Japan’s creative industry with the global market.

TIFFCOM, the market arm of the Tokyo International Film Festival, has established itself as one of Asia’s leading content markets, gathering professionals from film, television, animation, and digital media. The 2025 edition welcomes more exhibitors than ever, reflecting both the growing international interest in Japanese content and the country’s ambition to strengthen its role as a creative hub for global entertainment.

In its 22nd edition, the event features a lineup of 20 seminars — five more than last year. The program includes a rebranded projects market, the newly established TGFM Awards, lectures for content creators, and collaborative initiatives with TIFF, offering a diverse and wide-ranging platform. Even before the official opening, the market has already attracted considerable attention and positive feedback.

322 exhibitors — 128 from Japan and 194 from overseas — are participating this year, marking a notable increase from last year’s 283. Most exhibition booths were sold out by July, reflecting the high level of interest and anticipation surrounding the market.

TIFFCOM 2025 also expands its networking platform with a broader exhibitor area and new industry zones, designed to connect international buyers with Japanese creators and studios. Participants will find a comprehensive marketplace covering scripted and unscripted formats, film, anime, and cutting-edge technology services supporting content creation and distribution.
