The program will gather global executives, producers, and creators to explore international co-productions, the global expansion of Japanese content, and the rise of Asian series and films.

TIFFCOM 2025, Asia’s leading content market affiliated with the Tokyo International Film Festival, announced 14 highlighted seminars that will take place during its 22nd edition, from October 29 to 31 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center HAMAMATSUCHO-KAN. The program will gather global executives, producers, and creators to explore international co-productions, the global expansion of Japanese content, and the rise of Asian series and films.
Japanese animation takes the spotlight with a special session by the Association of Japanese Animations, presenting the first release of the Anime Industry Report 2025 alongside case studies on overseas expansion. Another panel, Animating Asia, organized by Hong Kong’s Cultural and Creative Industries Agency, will feature creators such as Raman Hui, Polly Yeung, and Samuel Choy, discussing cross-border IP strategies and storytelling.
Japanese TV is strongly represented. BEAJ will showcase case studies from WOWOW, AX-ON, ABC TV, NHK Enterprises, and TV Miyazaki, emphasizing new paths for international co-productions. Nippon TV will present its “Gear Up, Go Global” strategy, while TBS will highlight its 2024 global initiatives, including Alice in Borderland Season 3 and BAKA’s Identity.
The co-production section features the JP-KR Producers Exchange by VIPO and KOFIC, exploring grants and incentives, while Barunson E&A’s Yoonhee Choi (Parasite) and producer Shinya Kawai will guide participants through roadmaps for international collaboration. TIFFCOM will also host the MPA/DHU Masterclass and Pitch Contest with Elvis producer Schuyler Weiss, and the TUA-KAFA Co-Development Workshop nurturing emerging filmmakers from Japan and Korea.
Asian series and films will have a prominent stage, including Thai BL & GL’s Magic, focusing on the global success of Thai storytelling; Huace Film & TV’s showcase of high-quality Chinese content; a JETRO-led seminar on Turkish remakes and Japanese dramas; the Shanghai Showcase of Screen Productions; and KOCCA’s presentation of LG U+ dramas Love Phobia and Someday of Me.
Previously announced, The Future of Japanese IP in Global Adaptations will feature Filosophia Inc. CEO Tetsu Fujimura discussing how Japan’s IP “treasure box” continues to inspire adaptations worldwide.
