In the session organized by Unifrance, “Coming next from France”, during Series Mania Forum 2023, Hervé Michel, VP, and Sarah Hemrar, director of audiovisual, presented 5 French high-quality production series in a wide range of genres that will push French production into the international market.
In a full theater, producers, actors, and sales team presented to the buyers the selected shows: Sex(re)education, a comedy that speaks about love in old age; 9/12, an action thriller of a terrorist attack in Paris after the 11/9 events; Sambre, a series based on true events, which follows the story of a serial rapist that committed more than 60 raps to women between 1960 and 2018; Love is all, a comedy where the main character is diagnosed with a «lack of love» illness; and French Roulette – A Mother’s Ordeal, a true crime story happened in Nice in the ’70s.
As for 9/12, the series was produced by Scarlett Productions (Florence Dormoy) for ARTE, and is sold internationally by Mediawan Rights. Meanwhile, French Roulette – A Mother’s Ordeal, is directed by Vincent Garenq, produced by Effervescence for France 2 and sold by France TV Distribution.
Love Is All directed by Frédéric Hazan, produced by Phase 4 Productions for OCS and sold by Wild Bunch TV; and Sex (re)Education, directed by Alice Vial, produced by Next Episode for OCS and sold by Have A Good One.
