Unifrance presented the TV Export Awards winner, as well supported five new French series at Series Mania 2022.
Hervé Michel, Vice President of Unifrance, and Sarah Hemar, Deputy Executive Director of Unifrance in charge of Audiovisual & Digital, presented the 2022 Unifrance TV Export Awards. This year, they were once again awarded at the opening of the PROCIREP French TV Producer Award ceremony, with which Unifrance is proud to partner. Since 2004, these awards have recognised the world’s best selling French TV programmes.
‘These awards offer a new opportunity to spotlight the interest that French programmes generate internationally. Importantly, they also highlight the incredible work of French distributors, which Unifrance supports every day. Well done to the teams at Federation, Mediawan Rights and Newen Connect, who brought three remarkable original creations to the attention of people around the world’, said Hemar and Michel.
The 2022 winners were: Animation winner for Federation for The Ollie & Moon Show Season 1 (52×11’); Documentary winner for Mediawan Rights for Kubrick by Kubrick (60’ + 75’); Fiction winner for Newen Connect for High Intellectual Potential — Season 1 (8×52’).
In addition, organization supported five new series which joined the 2022 edition of Series Mania. According Hemar and Michel, as the second-biggest export genre, French TV drama saw significant growth in the last ten years, with sales at 135%, proof of increasing production quality and reach, and within this particularly positive context, Unifrance made a significant contribution to Series Mania, with an increased presence at the Series Mania Forum and the organisation of the seventh edition of COMING NEXT from FRANCE, a dedicated showcase made it past March 22.
The five series to be presented in 2022 are:
