Legacy Distribution acquires Vision Films in major indie consolidation

Legacy Distribution is officially acquiring global distribution powerhouse Vision Films. This combination brings together the unique strengths of both companies, uniting their robust content portfolios and operations into a single distribution entity. The newly expanded company will continue to operate under the Vision Films banner. Dana Webber, CEO and Managing Partner of Legacy Distribution, will step in as the CEO of the merged organization. Meanwhile, Lise Romanoff, Founder and Managing Director of Vision Films, will transition into a consultant role and is slated to represent Vision Films at the American Film Market (AFM) in November.

The merged entity will continue to offer acclaimed new releases alongside a massive, combined library of feature films, television series, documentaries, specials, and music programming.

Vision Films brings a deep catalog spanning decades. Widely known as a prestigious VOD aggregator and direct supplier to all major global TVOD, SVOD, and AVOD platforms, the company has successfully distributed independent films and specialty programming to audiences in more than 190 countries.

“I’ve spent years building Vision Films into a company I’m proud of. This is a dream opportunity to pass the baton to a colleague and friend who shares my commitment and dedication,” shared Lise Romanoff. “Dana is the right leader for this next chapter of Vision’s library, to seamlessly take care of my producers, company, and everyone who helped me build it. I could not find a better partner to carry on and grow my legacy (pun intended).”

Dana Webber echoed the enthusiasm, highlighting the strategic advantages of the merger: “Vision Films’ global reach and powerful operations position us to advance our mission of delivering diverse and compelling content to audiences worldwide. Lise is widely respected across the media industry for building a leading global content distribution business through sheer grit and vision.”

The merger combines two powerhouse libraries into one massive catalog. Vision Films’ extensive roster includes titles such as Murder Between Friends, Time Hoppers, Christmas With A Crown, The Healer, My Secret Billionaire, Tango Shalom (a.k.a. Forbidden Tango), Walt Before Mickey, If I Could Ride, and Off The Menu. Its acclaimed documentary features include Hired Gun, Living in the Future’s Past, In the Company of Wolves, Gandhi, Fantasy Rising, American Clowns, and You Belong To Me. It also boasts new releases like Pinball: Beyond The Bumpers, Love on Tap, Line of Control, and UFOs and God.

Conversely, Legacy Distribution adds its vast library of true-crime series such as Crime Stories, Blood, Lies & Alibis, Crime Stoppers: Case Files, Bounty Hunters, and Murder At My Door. The roster also features fan-favorite reality and lifestyle series like Funniest Pets and People, Positively Paula, A+E After Dark, Pets In Paradise, Ex-Wives of Rock, and Restaurant Takeover; feature films such as Authors Anonymous, Wake, Moving Mountains, The Luau, Crazylove, The Other Side of Hell, and Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders; alongside documentary features like 9/11: The Day The World Stood Still, Michael Jackson: Ungloved, Tina Turner: Simply the Best, Dolly Parton: Big Hair, Bigger Heart, and Disasters of the Decades.

The acquisition was supported by several key financial and legal advisors. California Bank & Trust served as the senior lender to Legacy Distribution. The Mager Law Firm acted as the exclusive legal advisor, while Errol Antzis served as the exclusive investment consultant to Legacy Distribution. Harris Tulchin & Associates served as the exclusive legal advisor to Vision Films.
