Warner Bros. Animation to showcase studio highlights at MIFA 2025

Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios (CNS), and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe are participating in the Annecy International Animation Film Festival this week. The studios is offering exclusive previews and celebrate CNS’s 25th anniversary with a gathering of influential animators.

Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe has produced Annecy’s official 2025 trailer, featuring classic Warner Bros. characters arriving at the festival. Grant Orchard directed the trailer, with Ben Bocquelet serving as executive producer. Sam Register, President of the studios group, noted the honor of creating the trailer and expressed anticipation for the festival.

Celebrating 25 Years of Cartoon Network Studios: A special event, “Creating Creativity: Celebrating 25 Years of Cartoon Network Studios,” is featuring a discussion with creators such as Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter’s Laboratory), Craig McCracken (The Powerpuff Girls), Pendleton Ward (Adventure Time), Rebecca Sugar (Steven Universe), J.G. Quintel (Regular Show), and Adam Muto (Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake). The conversation will cover the studio’s history, future, and ongoing legacy.

Work-in-Progress and Making-Of Sessions: Warner Bros. Animation will provide exclusive looks at upcoming projects. A “Work-in-Progress” session on Get Jiro, based on the DC/Vertigo graphic novel, will explore the creative and production process of this story set in a future Los Angeles where master chefs hold significant power. A “Making-Of” session for Bat-Fam, a series continuing the events of Merry Little Batman, will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the animated series coming to Prime Video.

Studio Spotlight: A “Studio Spotlight” session is featuring Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios, and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe. This presentation will cover current and upcoming film and series projects, highlighting the studios’ aims to provide animation content across various audience groups and platforms. The session is expected to include industry insights and previews from Cartoon Network Studios, Warner Bros. Animation, and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe.

Adult Animation Focus: Adult Swim and Warner Bros. Animation will conduct an “Adult Animation at Warner Bros. Discovery – Studio Focus” session. Michael Ouweleen (President, Adult Swim) and Peter Girardi (Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, Warner Bros. Animation) will discuss their strategies and preview current and upcoming projects in the adult animation space.
