NATPE Budapest 2025: record attendance and a strong beginning

With over 750 delegates from 65 countries, including more than 400 buyers and 100 exhibitors, NATPE Budapest 2025 starts with strong growth and renewed enthusiasm, establishing itself as the leading TV hub for business in CEE. Organized by Brunico Communications, the event not only surpasses last year's figures, but also reinforces its role as a strategic epicenter for connecting the global industry with CEE's emerging markets.

The action is concentrated at the InterContinental Hotel in the heart of Budapest, with a second venue at the modern Dorothea Hotel, where executives participate in showcases, screenings and networking meetings in a dynamic and relaxed environment.

Yesterday, the opening day included the first screening of the market by A+E Global Media and the traditional Opening Night Cocktail. One of the highlights was the debut of NATPE Honors Europe, the brand-new gala that recognizes key figures for their transformative vision in the audiovisual ecosystem. Among the honorees of this first edition were Daniel Grunt (Nova Group), Yana Honcharenko (Starlight Media), George Levendis (ANT1 TV, Mak TV & Antenna Studios), Levente Málnay (AMC Networks International) and Magdalena Szwedkowicz (MAG Entertainment).

Claire Macdonald, Executive Director of NATPE, said: ‘NATPE Budapest is the most business-generating market in Central and Eastern Europe. We focus on concrete results, and delegates appreciate this. The show opened with packed halls and a very high quality of content’.

The agenda continues this week with screenings from top studios who will present their new releases in specially curated venues: today is the turn for Lionsgate. Also, the journey starts with a panel from Andreas Briese, CEO of YouTube Germany. Next days, George Levendis (ANT1 TV), Stella Litou (RTL Croatia / Pro Plus Slovenia) and Levente Málnay (AMC) will address the growing demand for premium local content and opportunities for international collaboration.

In partnership with Realscreen, NATPE also offers highly engaging sessions such as “30 Minutes With” and the “Future Formats” block, with the participation of Seafood TV, Paprika Studios, ZPR Media and Starlight Media. In addition, the well-established Pitch & Play Live, organized by CEETV, is back, highlighting the best unscripted formats from the CEE ecosystem ready for the international market. This year's three finalists are "Upload" (ETV/ERR), "Heritage Code" (Rlive TV) and "Incredible Duets" (Friends Productions), presented to a jury of experts in a dynamic session.
