ATF 2025: 'Reformulating the narrative', the theme that sets the course

Asian TV Forum & Market 2025 officially kicks off its 26th edition today in Singapore, with Marina Bay Sands as the meeting point for the global entertainment ecosystem. Over three days, the market brings together executives, creators, and buyers to define trends, explore opportunities, and anticipate the future of audiovisual media in Asia-Pacific and Southeast Asia.

The market opens its doors on Tuesday, December 2, with the "ATF Leaders' Dialogue", a day that brings together strategic profiles from the industry to analyze the main challenges facing the sector and the keys to its sustainable growth. From Wednesday, December 3, through Friday, December 5, ATF will roll out its full program, featuring conferences, keynotes, screenings, and networking opportunities.

On Wednesday evening, December 3, ATF will host its traditional "Skyline Rooftop Bash" at Lavo, the sky bar at Marina Bay Sands, where executives from around the world will gather to toast more than two decades of growth and innovation.

Under the slogan “Reformulating the narrative: new pillars of success on screen,” this year's ATF offers a broad look at the factors that are redefining content consumption and creation. The market puts the main players involved in this transformation on the agenda: from financing funds and completion bonds to key players in FAST, micro-dramas, and brand-driven entertainment.

Although the organization has not yet confirmed initial figures, the market aims to match last year's results: more than 4.500 executives, 900 buyers, and delegations from more than 50 countries. Among the attendees are executives from Prime Video APAC, Netflix, WBD, Youku, iQiyi, Disney Asia, Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Canal+, among other regional and global groups.

The opening will be attended by Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister of State at Singapore's Ministry of Digital Development and Information, reinforcing the country's role as a strategic hub in the region.

The first analysis of the day will be presented by Tony Gunnarsson, senior analyst at Omdia, who will offer a concrete look at the evolution of streaming, the advance of FAST, and YouTube's continued dominance as a platform for digital consumption. His projections anticipate an increasingly fragmented ecosystem by 2030, but with new opportunities for hybrid models and alternative windows.

Next, Kevin Vaz, CEO of JioStar, will share the company's vision in “Driving the Next Wave of a Billion Imaginations,” while executives from CJ ENM and TVING will discuss how the integration of production, distribution, and platforms is enabling Korean content to expand more strongly into new markets.

The agenda also includes presentations from Tencent Video, GDH 559, and a conversation about the future of FAST in Asian territories.

As every year, ATF incorporates a strong presence of incubation and pitching programs to promote regional intellectual property. These include the "ATF x SAAVA IP Accelerator, Horror Pitch 2025, Mediacorp Co-production Pitch", and tb "Animation Lab & Pitch", which this year once again connects Asia and Europe. The day will end with a networking event that brings together producers, institutions, and financiers, facilitating new avenues for project development.
