At Mipcom 2024, Zee Entertainment and VIP 2000 TV presented Valentina (60×60′), the heartwarming first project made between India and Latin America, which follows the story of a young girl with autism who is also a genius in the world of technology.

Rosalind Rotundo, VP of VIP 2000 TV, commented: ‘Exactly one year ago, we agreed with ZEE to make our first co-production. We are very happy with the product we achieved, and now you can enjoy it, which is why we decided to present it at Cannes. “Valentina” is a powerful IP, offering drama, romance, comedy and a strong message of acceptance. It is a universal story that can have great performance in broadcast TV, pay TV and streaming’.

Valentina, is a modern Latin American telenovela, which highlights a global appeal for its message of diversity and inclusion to audiences. It was filmed in the region of Jalisco (Mexico), in completely natural locations.

The story follows young Valentina, who has grown up sheltered from society by her adoptive mother in the small town of Chiquilistlán, where she excelled academically. Moving to the big city of Guadalajara after her mother dies in an accident will be difficult, as she encounters the worst and the best of humanity; the blossoming of an unknown emotion called love, new friends, but also the envy and jealousy of those who choose not to accept her.

‘The original idea comes from a novel by Zee Entertainment. With the team of writers we managed to adapt it, creating a love story of that female child who discovers what it’s like to fall in love. Autism is a global issue that we all need to consider’ added Rosalind Rotundo.

The series features Rebeca Herrera as Valentina, Cynthia Klitbo as her mother, and many Mexican talents: Mauricio Novoa, Macarena Oz, Katie Barberi, Ana Karen Coy, Daniel Medrero, Eduardo Villalpando, Michelle Santane, Azucena Evans, Marco Orozco, and Édgar Ruvalcaba, among others.
