Central Partnership, top Russian cinematography

The major Russian distributor promotes its brand-new titles and upcoming fall premieres at Virtual Screenings Worldwide (VSWW) for the first time, highlighting several projects in the format of movies and TV series.

Heading the slate are three films. First, Mission “SKY”, based on a true story of heroism during the Syrian war, which took place in 2015. A 3X Media Group production, the story shows Lieutenant colonel Oleg Soshnikov and captain Konstantin Muravyov deployed to Khmeimim air base in Syria. During a combat flight, their Su-24 is shot down. Both pilots eject after the aircraft is hit, but only one of them returns home alive.

Second, Sreda’s Ostap Bender. The Empire’s Gold where the hunt for imperial gold continues. A priceless scepter, a treasure that could secure a worry-free life in sunny Rio de Janeiro for Ibrahim Bender and his young apprentice Ostap, has slipped from under their noses and ended up in possession of Nestor Makhno, an anarchist army commander.

And the WWII movie The Pilot. A Battle for Survival by Renat Davletyarov is inspired by a true survival story.A Interfest, Star Media, DaProduction, it centers on an IL-2 pilot who crash-lands in a remote forest clearing after an action-packed air fight, and has to find his way back to a friendly territory battling hunger and extreme cold, evading packs of wolves and detachments of Nazi soldiers. The feature will premiere early November.

The company is also promoting miniseries like TV3 and Sreda coproduction, Gogol (4x’48), a crime mystery horror series based on both the biography of the «Russian Edgar Allan Poe», central gothic-style writer of the XIX century, Nikolai Gogol, and his enigmatic stories. Or Premier StudiosThe Blackout (6x’48), a sci-fi action series in the post-apocalyptic set.

Also, The Bolshoi (4x’48), A ballet drama series in the set of the Bolshoi theatre, and Tenderness (11x’15), a female-empowering drama series from the award-winning director Anna Melikyan.

Central Partnership announced this year its first co-production with Latin America’s BF Film (Chile-Brazil) called Schizophrenic and the co-financed project Boundless, a story of the first round-the-world journey conducted by Magallanes and El Cano.
