Massimo Righini and Fabio Nesi, CCO and CEO of Casta Diva attended MIPCOM and expressed their excitement over the premiere of the new daily show La Porta Magica (The Magic Door) on Rai 2, which aired on Monday, October 21, at 5 p.m. The show debuted with a solid 3.1% share and 250,000 viewers, outperforming Rai 2’s average by 50% for that time slot.
Produced by Casta Diva in collaboration with Rai’s daytime entertainment division, The Magic Door is based on a format created by renowned US producer JD Roth. The show is also distributed internationally by Small World, adding a global dimension to its success.
Hosted by the charismatic Andrea Delogu, the feel-good show tells the heartfelt stories of everyday people looking to make significant changes in their lives, whether it’s achieving a dream, undergoing a transformation, or pursuing a personal goal. Each episode features a literal «magic door» in the studio, symbolizing a transition in the participants’ journeys. Some complete their transformation by the end of the episode, while others return weeks later, showcasing the lasting impact of their experiences.
JD Roth, best known for creating popular US shows like The Biggest Loser, Extreme Weight Loss, and Beauty & theGeek, has brought his signature storytelling style to Italy with The Magic Door. Roth’s original concept, which blends personal empowerment and emotional journeys, has resonated well with the Italian audience in this debut.
The show is airing every day at 5 p.m from Monday to Friday.
