ORF: premieres and new seasons

ORF Enterprise continues to consolidate its presence in the audiovisual market with an outstanding creative output. The Austrian company, renowned for its ability to combine quality and volume in its catalog, published on its website an ambitious offer of new titles and seasons for 2025.

Armin Luttenberger, head of Content Sales International at ORF Enterprise, highlighted the strength and diversity of the company’s catalog: ‘Our catalog, as colorful as we offer, already includes more than 1,000 recent titles of all genres on our projection platform, and thousands more hours in our back catalog. A significant volume of high-quality output that provides the perfect touch point for decision-makers looking for the ideal content across all genres’.

ORF Enterprise highlights The Curious Cases of Gerti B., a crime comedy that follows Gerti B., a veteran police inspector facing personal and professional challenges. Her married life is at a standstill and she is relegated in her career in favor of a younger colleague. The investigation of a murder in her neighborhood forces her to confront her past and her community, which takes an unexpected turn in her career.

New seasons of established series, such as School of Champions (16×45′), which returns with its second season, will be added to the lineup. Set in Austria’s most prestigious ski academy, the series explores the complex relationships between young athletes seeking to excel in a highly competitive environment. Love, jealousy, loyalties and betrayals intertwine in a drama charged with adrenaline and emotional challenges.

Also new isGlambitious (’20×45), a series that follows Jennifer and Vero, two best friends who dream of a spectacular life. While Jennifer balances various jobs and late-night studies, Vero takes a more laid-back approach, working for a wealthy family. The series explores the dynamics between different social classes and the challenges of pursuing ambitions in an unequal world.

ORF Enterprise‘s documentary offerings continue to expand with new productions from UNIVERSUM, its prestigious collection of nature and history documentaries. Highlights include A Sloth Story (50′), which follows the life of Noodle, a three-toed sloth in the South American jungle; Lions of the Skeleton Coast, which documents the journey of three lion cubs in an extreme environment; and The Nicobar Islands – A Monkey’s Long Tale, which offers a look at the life of long-tailed macaques in a tropical paradise.

On the historical side, highlights include titles such as Pirates of the Mediterranean – A Game of Greed and Power, which examines piracy and slavery in the Mediterranean, and Women Pirates – Rebels of the Seas, which rescues the story of four women pirates who challenged the patriarchal order of their time.

Another highly anticipated premiere is Visit from China (52×74′), a documentary that tells the story of Ferdinand Adler, an Austrian violinist who escaped Nazism and found refuge in China, where he influenced classical music in the country. The film follows the reunion of the stories of Adler and his disciple Mingliang Sheng, with archival footage and testimonies that bring to life a unique story of resilience and musical legacy.
