Xilam Animation showcases new projects and content at Annecy Festival 2025

Academy Award®-nominated French animation studio Xilam Animation is participating in the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, taking place from June 8-14, 2025. The studio is presenting a range of its latest features and series, highlighting both new original titles and ongoing productions.

The upcoming family feature film Lucy Lost is part of Annecy’s official ‘Work In Progress’ sessions, which provide a first look at films and series currently in production. Marc du Pontavice, Xilam’s Founder and CEO, is participating in this session alongside key creatives, including director and co-writer Olivier Clert. The film, based on Michael Morpurgo’s 2014 novel Listen to the Moon, is produced by Xilam Films. Goodfellas Animation is managing international sales, while Le Pacte handles theatrical distribution in France, and French broadcasters Canal+ and Cine+ hold the pay-TV rights. The synopsis describes Lucy, an outsider with extraordinary gifts and white hair, who, with the help of a girl only she can see, embarks on an adventure to understand her powers and find her place.

Xilam is also showcasing new original titles from its expanding slate at the festival. This includes Submarine Jim,Piggy Builders, and Turbo Twins.

  • Submarine Jim, a new 2D animated adventure comedy, has its first episodes available for viewing. European broadcasters France Télévisions and Super RTL are already involved with the series, which follows a dolphin named Jim as he steers the world’s first submarine on wheels with a diverse crew.
  • Piggy Builders, originally commissioned by France Télévisions, BBC, and ZDF, follows three pig siblings who share a passion for construction and their community. The series, which focuses on themes of teamwork, is set to be completed by the end of the year and will premiere in the upcoming trimester.
  • Turbo Twins is a new comedy action CG animation series for children aged 6-10 years old. Xilam recently finalized a development agreement with French broadcaster TF1 for the series, which will air in TF1’s TFOU children’s slot. The series, first pitched at Cartoon Forum 2022, is set at Karston Speedway Summer Camp, where teen racers compete for a spot at the Nationals.
