From 1 to 5 September 2025, Unifrance will bring together sellers and buyers from around the world in the port city of Le Havre to participate in the Rendez-vous du Havre, the largest international market dedicated to French audiovisual programmes. Between presentations, meetings and premieres, this year’s edition will close with a very special tribute.
On 4 September, FESTIVAAL Distribution will host an evening dedicated to Barbapapa en famille!, the latest incarnation of a timeless classic of children’s animation, created by Alice Taylor and Thomas Taylor. The event will celebrate the 55th anniversary of the birth of Barbapapa, the endearing family of colorful, shape-shifting creatures that has captivated several generations since its debut in the 1970s.
In Barbapapa en famille!, the iconic couple Barbapapa and Barbamama live with their seven children, each with their own unique color, personality and talents, in a house adapted to their flexible and fun lifestyle. Able to transform themselves into anything, the Barbapapas use their creativity to solve everyday problems, encourage teamwork and convey values of respect, inclusion and love for nature.
This new series updates the visual style, introduces storylines adapted to contemporary childhood concerns, and keeps intact the playful and educational spirit that has made the programme a global cultural phenomenon.
