MIPCOM CANNES and Paramount Global Content Distribution announced that Boston Blue, the highly anticipated expansion of the Blue Bloods universe, will host its world premiere on Sunday, October 12, on the eve of the market’s opening. The screening in the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals will be followed by a Q&A with lead and executive producer Donnie Wahlberg and co-star Sonequa Martin-Green.
In the new series, Wahlberg reprises his role as NYPD Detective Danny Reagan, who joins the Boston Police Department and partners with Detective Lena Silver (Martin-Green), the eldest daughter of a renowned law enforcement family. Reagan also seeks to reconnect with his son Sean (Mika Amonsen), now starting his own police career. Bridget Moynahan returns as Erin Reagan for a guest appearance and will direct an episode later in the season.
The series introduces the Silver family: Boston District Attorney Mae Silver (Gloria Reuben), Superintendent Sarah Silver (Maggie Lawson), rookie officer Jonah Silver (Marcus Scribner), and Reverend Edwin Peters (Ernie Hudson).
Produced by CBS Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer Television, the show is helmed by Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis, with Jerry Bruckheimer, KristieAnne Reed, and Wahlberg also serving as executive producers.
Boston Blue will debut in the U.S. on CBS Friday, October 17, 2025, following its global launch at MIPCOM.
