OGM Pictures hosted a press event at the Majestic Hotel during the second day of MIPCOM to present its new drama series, Reborn. The presentation, which detailed the show’s focus on character-driven narratives, featured actors Lizge Gömert and Kerem Bürsin, alongside Ekin Koyuncu Karaman, Global Distribution and Partnership Director for OGM Universe.

Onur Güvenatam, Founder and Executive Producer of OGM Pictures, who also was in the saloon, outlined the company’s vision for the series and its strategy for international appeal. He confirmed that Reborn maintains OGM‘s tradition of telling ‘bold, character-driven dramas’. He emphasized that emotional authenticity is the core element designed to travel globally.
‘As OGM, we always try to tell the stories about real emotions, because we believe that emotions travel all over the world, like globally’, Güvenatam stated. He noted that when a story is emotional, the audience has ‘much more power to make the identification’ and ‘to understand and get into the story much more quickly’.

Character and family dynamics
Güvenatam explained that the central plot device of a heart transplant is used merely as a catalyst for exploring deeper emotional conflicts. ‘The heart transplanting is just a tool for us, and it’s just in the first episode’, he said.
The series primarily focuses on complicated mother-child relationships. The executive also suggested that the series’ name could even be ‘the mothers and sons and daughters as well’, noting that they aim to show ‘how the mothers reflect to their children’.
OGM Pictures deliberately prioritizes character arcs over major plot points, a method applied to its past successful projects. Güvenatam stressed, ‘We want audience to watch and track the characters, not the actions, not the big things’. The strategy is to create stories that resonate universally, making viewers feel that the characters’ struggles ‘happen to me as well, in my life, in my mother, in my father’.
