During MIPCOM 2025, Prensario spoke with Víctor M. López, CEO of Krakatoa, and Cindy Fernández, Licensing & Consumer Products Manager, about the unstoppable expansion of Plim Plim, one of the most successful children’s properties in the digital ecosystem.
“This year’s growth has been phenomenal,” said López. In the last 12 months, Plim Plim has reached more than 17 billion views and 42 million subscribers on YouTube, doubling its business compared to the previous year. The company is moving forward with agreements for the pre-sale of 78 five-minute episodes, and its content was recently acquired by a platform whose official announcement will be made in the coming days.
The phenomenon is also reflected in sales: more than 100.000 books sold in Latin America and a toy launch with Bandai, which sold out half of its initial stock in Mexico in just a few weeks.
Fernández emphasized that the goal is to transform Plim Plim into a global entertainment brand: ‘We are expanding into more territories, with new product lines in partnership with Bandai and Penguin, and the addition of characters such as Abejita Chiquitita, which already has over 1.2 billion views’.
With a presence on channels such as TV Azteca and TV Cultura, and new partnerships in Europe and Latin America, Plim Plim is making steady progress in its transition from digital success to a multi-platform franchise.
