Amazon MGM Studios unveils feature-heavy slate for this season

Amazon MGM Studios is presenting this season an extensive slate of upcoming feature films and established television series in the market. Among the events, the company attended MIPCOM 2025, emphasizing high-profile talent, literary adaptations, and major franchise installments.

The studio’s offering includes several theatrical releases featuring A-list casts. Project Hail Mary (Theatrical Release March 20, 2026), based on the novel by Andy Weir, stars Ryan Gosling and Sandra Hüller. The plot follows middle school science teacher Ryland Grace (Gosling) who wakes up on a spaceship with amnesia, tasked with an interstellar mission to save Earth alongside an alien seeking to save its own species from the same catastrophe.

Crime 101 (Theatrical Release February 13, 2026), an adaptation of Don Winslow’s novella, is a high-stakes heist story set in Los Angeles. The film features an ensemble cast including Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Halle Berry, and Nick Nolte.

The superhero franchise Masters of the Universe (Theatrical Release June 5, 2026), based on the Mattel property, stars Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, and Idris Elba. Plot details for the film, directed by Travis Knight, are currently undisclosed.

Other films include the psychological thriller Verity (Theatrical Release October 2, 2026), based on the Colleen Hoover novel, starring Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson. The story follows a struggling writer hired as a ghostwriter who discovers chilling autobiographical notes, blurring the lines between fiction and a potential crime.

The unique animated feature Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie (Theatrical Release November 13, 2026), stars Hugh Jackman as shepherd George Hardy. The plot involves George reading murder mysteries aloud to his sheep, who realize he has been murdered and decide to solve the crime themselves. Finally, the holiday film The Man with the Bag (Prime Video 2026) stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Alan Ritchson in a story where Santa Claus must recruit a former thief to recover his stolen magic bag.

The Summer I Turned Pretty (three parts, 26 episodes total) is a multigenerational drama focused on a love triangle between a girl and two brothers, exploring first love, first heartbreak, and the power of female friendship. Daisy Jones & the Six (10 episodes) is based on the New York Times bestselling novel and chronicles the story of an iconic 1970s band, detailing the creative partnership between feuding lead singers Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne, and the band’s sudden implosion at the height of its fame.
