ITV Studios’ smash hit Beat The Chasers wrapped up a superb first season in the Netherlands. With an average of more than 1 million viewers each episode, this first series averaged a solid 17.6% market share in the key demo (25-54), beating RTL4’s slot average with +32%. The highlight of the season was episode 9, which attracted the show’s biggest market share of 22.1%, a stellar +66% up on the slot. Beat The Chasers, locally titled Beat The Champions, was produced by ITV Studios Netherlands.
The Dutch are far from finished with the hit format. Following this success, RTL 4 will broadcast two celebrity specials later this Spring. It will be up to some famous Dutch faces to compete against the quiz titans in the hope of winning money for charities. In the UK, ITV recently aired their first celebrity special, which was a success to say the least. It was watched by 4,8 million viewers and received a market share of 27.5% (individuals), easily winning the slot that night. The third series, due to air later this year on ITV, will see contestants face all five chasers.
Beat The Chasers is created by Potato, part of ITV Studios and distributed internationally by ITV Studios.
