Sony LIV partners with YouTube to launch subscriptions plans in India

Indian streaming platform Sony LIV has announced a strategic partnership with YouTube to offer subscriptions via YouTube TV and YouTube Primetime Channels, significantly expanding its reach in North America, Europe, and Australia.

The agreement, announced past November, enables the Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) platform to make its content accessible to users in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Australia. The subscription pricing has been set at US$7.99 per month in the U.S., £7.99 in the U.K., €8.49 in France and Germany, and A$13.99 in Australia.

Sony LIV characterizes this collaboration as a ‘significant milestone in Sony LIV’s international expansion strategy’. Through this integration, international subscribers will gain access to the platform’s full catalogue, which draws from SPNI’s 30-year library and reportedly includes more than 40,000 hours of programming. The content offering features award-winning premium titles, including the hit series Scam 1992 and Tanaav.
