Disney+ is premiering its boldest venture at Series Mania

The cast of “Dear Killer Nannies: Raised by Hitmen” revealed the acting challenges and behind-the-scenes details ahead of its global premiere.

As part of Series Mania in Lille, Disney+ presented three episodes of Dear Killer Nannies: Raised by Hitmen, its new production created in collaboration with Telemundo Studios, Underground Producciones and TIS Studios.

Colombians Juanita Molina and Janer Villarreal shared intimate insights into a story that breaks away from traditional moulds. Both highlighted the duality of their characters and the experience of joining Disney’s creative universe with a deeply emotional narrative.

Villarreal, who plays Pablo Escobar’s son, explained that his greatest challenge was balancing comedy and drama without descending into caricature. “The character suffers and feels; we had to find humanity in every scene,” he said.

Molina describes Angie as a key and disruptive figure: a feminine energy that also expresses itself through toughness and directness. Although she may appear antagonistic on the surface, in private she is the hitwoman tasked with protecting Juan Pablo. The actress admitted that she had to slow down her own pace to build a more introspective character.

The series premieres globally on April 1st. With Sebastián Ortega as showrunner, it is inspired by the stories of Juan Pablo Escobar, co-creator alongside Ortega and Pablo Farina. It is directed by Pablo Fendrik and Felipe Cano Ibañez, with scripts by Alejandro Quesada, Ana María Parra, Martín Méndez and Ortega.
