Apple TV+ expands Peanuts franchise with new feature film

Snoopy

Apple TV has announced a robust summer programming lineup dedicated to the iconic Peanuts franchise, headlined by new seasonal specials, series renewals, and the digital debut of classic library titles. The platform also confirmed it is currently in production on a new animated feature film titled Snoopy Unleashed, starring Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and the rest of the gang. The upcoming film follows Snoopy as he runs away from home, prompting Charlie Brown and his friends to embark on a journey through the big city to find him while discovering the true value of friendship.

The announcements reinforce Apple TV’s position as the exclusive streaming home for Peanuts content, driven by a long-term partnership with WildBrain, Peanuts Worldwide, and Lee Mendelson Film Productions that runs through 2030. Apple has hosted the classic Peanuts library since 2020 while continuously developing new original content alongside its production partners.

The platform’s summer rollout begins on June 26 with the premiere of Camp Snoopy season two. The new season follows Snoopy, the Beagle Scouts, and Charlie Brown as they return to Camp Spring Lake for outdoor adventures. The series is executive produced by Paige Braddock, Chris Bracco, Rob Boutilier, Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts, and Logan McPherson.

In July, Apple TV will stream classic programming from Mendelson/Melendez Productions for the first time. The animated historical miniseries This Is America, Charlie Brown—which follows the gang exploring landmark U.S. historical events like The Birth of the Constitution and The Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk—will debut on July 3. It will be followed on July 10 by The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show, an 18-episode series directly based on Charles M. Schulz’s original comic strip.

The summer slate concludes on July 31 with the premiere of the new original special, Snoopy Presents: There’s No Place Like Home, Snoopy. The narrative centers on Snoopy and Charlie Brown embarking on a quest to locate Snoopy’s doghouse after it is accidentally sold at a yard sale. The special features voice performances by Riley Vargas, Terry McGurrin, and Rob Tinkler, and is executive produced by Scherba, Betts, McPherson, Braddock, Bracco, and Mark Evestaff.

These upcoming titles join Apple TV’s existing portfolio of award-winning Peanuts originals, which includes Snoopy in Space, The Snoopy Show, Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical, and Snoopy Presents: It’s the Small Things, Charlie Brown.
