WBPA unveils new era at Annecy

Studio reveals new logo, premieres Daffy Season, and showcases ambitious animation slate through 2028

Warner Bros. Pictures Animation (Warner Bros. Pictures Animation) made a major statement at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, presenting its most ambitious showcase to date and introducing the creative vision behind its theatrical slate for 2026–2028.

Led by President and Chief Creative Officer Bill Damaschke, the studio unveiled a new logo, premiered the Looney Tunes short Daffy Season, and offered an extended preview of The Cat in the Hat, its first theatrical feature in this new chapter, set for release in November.

During the presentation, Damaschke emphasized WBPA’s commitment to an “artists-first” philosophy, highlighting a strategy that prioritizes creative freedom and distinct visual identities for every project. Drawing inspiration from the legacy of Termite Terrace—the historic birthplace of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck—the studio aims to combine innovation with storytelling rooted in heart, humor, and optimism.

The slate includes seven theatrical features and an original short, among them Bad Fairies, The Lunar Chronicles, Margie Claus, Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, Dynamic Duo, and the recently announced Hello Kitty. Annecy attendees also learned about projects currently in development, including Tom & Jerry, ThunderCats, Meerkats, and the original musical Prehistoria from creator Vivienne Medrano.

With more than 250 artists across 13 countries and a global creative network exceeding 1,200 collaborators, WBPA is positioning itself as one of the industry’s fastest-growing animation studios, combining original stories with fresh interpretations of iconic franchises.
