Anna Saura is launching Donya Tecla, a distribution company specializing in short films that aims to increase the visibility of the format both within and outside Spain. Developed in collaboration with Maru Batista and based in Madrid, the initiative aims to support each film with a personalized approach, from its release through its festival circuit.
The company was founded with the intention of reinforcing the short film’s role as a space for innovation and creative freedom. It will work with fiction, documentary, animation, and hybrid formats, prioritizing artistic coherence and the strategic positioning of each project.
Donya Tecla is also committed to a diverse catalog that combines established names with new voices. Among the initial titles are works by directors such as Carlos Saura, Chema García Ibarra, and Anna Saura, alongside a series of emerging productions.
The goal is clear: to promote the international circulation of short films and consolidate a network that connects talent, festivals, and audiences, highlighting the short film as a key language of contemporary cinema.
